ACS Conference

My team and I went to the regional ACS meeting in Iowa October 23-24, 2009. We presented our work " The Activity of Alkaline Phosphatase in Presence of Metal Ions". The night went great and we won an award for Best Poster Presentation. I was very fun and exciting for all of us. Pictures at theconference will be posted once I get back home to Minnesota. Iowa is great.

$$$ Amount Raised and Plans With the Money $$$

Giv2Cure has raised a total of $326.50 from selling food, flower clips, headbands, and jewelry from mid August09 till September 4, 2009. We are in school now and will still continue to raise money through out the school year for research and orphanages. With the money that we have raised right now, we have decided that we will used it to help out the food shelf during Thanksgiving of 2009 and some will go to the sick little kids at the University of Minnesota children's hospital during Christmas to cheer their spirits for what they are fighting today. We are hoping to raise more money throughout the course of this year and hope that everyone will support us. We just want to thank those of you who have already helped by purchasing our products because without you guys, we would have nothing. MN Academy Of Science

This year Mainhia Xiong and Kerry Xiong participated in Undergraduate research form North Hennepin Community College. We studied inhibitors on Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP), a enzyme found in the body tissues that is responsible for many body functions. We had poster presentations at the 29th MN academy of Science Apirl 17, 2009.
